Precision Placement

Day 3 | The Glue

A Scripture-centered reading from the Precision Prayer devotional collection.

I miss my mom. She was the glue in our family and Robert’s care giver. Mom never complained and did everything she could to put food on the table. After the divorce she did everything to care for Robert while working multiple jobs.

Having three jobs was normal.

Taking care of us boys was her pride and joy.

One day we are all there and then Steven gets married, Mike enlists in the Navy with Jon and Robert at home. Jon would also enlist in the Navy.

Lost one son to sickness and two to her country.

I’m sure that was difficult. It was for me.

Through it all, mom never complained.

Mom was our rock, the glue that kept everything together.

She loved.

She cared.

She provided.

Mom also became ill and needed to move into a home with full-time care. My brother Steve lived close and became mom’s caregiver. It was beautiful to see. We lived further away and our business required a lot of our time.

I have regrets with mom too.

Life can be too busy.

Steve made time. He was her tower.

Are you in a situation where life is running so fast you cannot keep up?

Do you have painful experiences that are unbearable?

How about that glue, who was yours?

She was our strong tower.

In her last days, Steve became her strong tower.

The Bible tells us we can run to a strong tower.

Robert was dealt a tough hand.

Robert was dealt a difficult hand, but Mom was one of God’s gifts to him.

We too have a gift from our Heavenly Father.

He is our refuge, our peace, and our strong tower.

Precision Practice

Regret can imprison us if we allow it to.

We cannot rewrite yesterday, but we can learn from it.

Make the phone call.
Spend the time.
Say “I love you.”

Tomorrow is never promised.

Now turn to the One who can give you His peace.

Let Him bring that cleansing.

Give it to Him today.

Lean on that Tower.

Trust Him.
